Dear friend of KISSed Quilts,
Where has March gone? We left off in February with the issue of my knee...my torn meniscus situation. Had a bit of a set-back mid-February, so I tried to nurse it back even slower and I'm still progressing to health. I will continue to do exercises and massages, take my joint supplements and walk carefully for now!
The first part of March was spent at Sew Expo, Puyallup, WA where I enjoyed seeing students from last year come to my Advanced sessions or take newly offered sessions. If you attended, what did you like best? What would you like to see taught next year? Thanks to all who attended. Please send me photos of your finished projects! Quilt 'til you Wilt - Odessa, WA -- thanks for the opportunity to have a pop-up shop and do some demos! This is an annual event so follow the Odessa Quilt Club to keep up on all the details.
MOVE UPDATE
No one more than me, was hoping to have moved by now and be getting settled into the new space at 219 Main St. For the upcoming Shop Hop, which starts Tuesday -- April 1 -- yes it's already here, we have decided to get through the electrical rough-in inspection before staging ourselves in the new space, so I'm waiting to move. Anticipate an announcement, probably later next week. Stay tuned!

I won't be able to host any sew-ins during April and May --just the logistics of the shop hop and the new space isn't quite ready for it. Thanks for understanding. Soon they can be Sunday - Friday by arrangement!
SPECIAL EVENTS
April 1 - May 31 - All Pacific Northwest Shop Hop - Oregon and Washington are joining together in a quilt shop hop during April and May. There are multiple regions, so prizes by region and fully completing the hop. Maybe you're not going to come until the WSQ Shop Hop starts ---so, do you need me to save you a magazine? Let me know! Or purchase it at my website and save on shipping by indicating 'pick-up' during checkout and I'll hold it for you.
 
 Wandering Kits that were pre-ordered will ship or be available for pick-up April 1. Note that at each shop you will get a free 5" square --unique to each shop (not shown here). As an option, they can be used in this design instead of the squares that you see around the outer border of the quilt or add another similar border beyond this one or some combination thereof, with the unique squares from each shop. This fabric cannot be re-ordered, so we are limited to the orders we put in months ago. I'll have a limited quantity of kits, so if you're interested and may not come to the shop until May, please consider doing a pre-order so that you can be sure to get one.
I also created two designs that will be available at Highland Quilts in Athena, OR. They utilize the In the Beginning fabric collection prepared specifically for this event for the Oregon shops. Pattern names are Oregon Icons and Oregon Scenic Rows.
 
 April 29 - May 3 - WSQ Shop Hop - "Hugs and Kisses"
(At KISSed Quilts - Tuesday - Friday 9am - 5pm; Closed Saturday)
Are you coming?? -- We are planning to be in the new space (on a temporary basis), so I hope you'll come check it out! We'll move out at the end of May and do important finishing work, hoping for a Grand Opening in the summer.

My own ruler! -- Half Hexi -- shows how to cut half or whole hexies that maximize the use of a 10" square and the setting edges as well. Comes with detailed instructions.
Love Me More panel and pre-cuts -- inspire someone with these words, images and colors.
    
Magic Binding Maker - 2 1/4" -- This is my go-to size for bindings completely by machine. This tool folds the fabric in half without pressing! Just fold the first 6" and insert, lock down the tool and pull through.
