First customer quilts have already been delivered. Super fun to see a quilt top that was made from a 10" stack of fabric in the Fall retreat's goodie bag.
Kicking off the new year with an opportunity as we look forward to the 1st All Pacific Northwest Shop Hop and we are a participating shop. That's right, Oregon and Washington are joining together in a quilt shop hop during April and May. There are multiple regions, so prizes by region and fully completing the hop.
All Pacific Northwest (Washington and Oregon) Shop Hop - April and May 2025 - Please consider pre-ordering the magazine that includes your shop hop passport, maps, region lists, etc. I'm doing a pre-sale now. Include pick-up or shipping as appropriate. They will be available mid-February.
As promised, here is a look at our new design, Wandering. Kit pre-orders will start February 16 and will ship or be available for pick-up in the store starting April 1. Note that at each shop you will get a free 5" square --unique to each shop (not shown here). As an option, they can be used in this design instead of the squares that you see around the outer border of the quilt or add another similar border beyond this one or some combination thereof, with the unique squares from each shop. This fabric cannot be re-ordered, so we are limited to the orders we put in months ago. I'll have a limited quantity of kits, so if you're interested and may not come to the shop until May, please consider doing a pre-order so that you can be sure to get one.
I've also designed for a shop in Oregon something completely different using their fabrics ...so stay tuned for those details!
New Month, New Block on the Quilt-a-long from Patterns by Jen - 2024 Monthly Color Challenge
Revealed! See blogpost for all the details. I chose to color the sashings as if it was part of the coral and seaweed that the fish were swimming around. I hope you've enjoyed this year-long adventure. The binding fabric, also used on the back is available here- Kaffe Fasset Millefiore. It has a beautiful cotton sateen finish.
Upcoming Sew-ins, Special Events and Closures
January 9 and 10 - Happy to meet you by appointment at 301 Main St. Please make arrangements ahead of time.
January 14-17 ..I'm going to be focused on prepping (sanding and painting!) fixtures for the new shop so won't be at 301 Main ...so please call ahead if you're needing something and I'll pop into the shop to meet you at a designated time.
Fridays and Sundays (and January 20 - MLK Day) I'm generally in town working at the new shop space --just up the street...so if you're coming in to shop at 301 Main St., please give me a call.

Sew-ins
January 13 -- considered doing a One-Block-Wonder? ...I'll help you cut it out. Get 6 or 7 panels or repeats of an appropriate fabric. Cut 6 exact triangles and have fun making them into two half-hexies. Then lay all out (use 7th panel to place them around--as an option). I've got several panels and some fabrics for you to consider using. This is not a formal class, just a suggestion as at least a couple of us plan on cutting one out during this session. Please RSVP.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Sew Expo 2025 - Puyallup, WA will take place February 27 - March 2. The class schedule has been posted. I'm teaching 5 unique classes ...and one is taught twice. Check out the PDF Schedule in the link above and I hope to see some of you in class! This includes two new classes that use the EZPiecing foundation method -- a method where the substrate is pre-printed and is left in the project. The project remains soft and supple and you don't have any papers to remove! It really is great! I've also got Beginning and Advanced AnglePlay and two sessions of Beginning Quilt Making. This was sold out last year so we're offering two sessions this year to give more opportunities. I had a mother and daughter take it together which I thought was a great way to introduce this skill to your child.

EeziGrip 6 1/2" x 24" rulers - Note the ones I now have are CLEAR acrylic (not yellow like shown)
Note---the EeziGrip is a "stickiness" to the backside that keeps the ruler from moving while cutting. Very little pressure is needed on top of the ruler to hold it in place. I can ship these but they require special shipping costs depending upon where you live, due to their length, so they are on the website but not orderable from the website. If you'd like to order other goods with them, please give me a call and I will help facilitate the transaction. Thanks.
