Dear friend of KISSed Quilts, 
My favorite month--why? I got married on Valentine's Day, 15 years ago! WOW!
Here is the quilt I designed while on our honeymoon in Hawaii. I collected several of the fabrics during that trip too.
This started as a Storm at Seam with 3 hearts ...and then while in Hawaii it seemed appropriate to add a turtle. When my hubby said he'd like it to be his 'couch quilt' it became necessary to make it even larger so the large border using Hawaiian prints helped! This is a great celebration quilt of our love and I'm considering entering it into the Celebrations of Life exhibit at the Houston Festival this year.

Unfortunately the weather and building conditions were such that we got cut short in our time in the room and some were not able to make it. The finished star was shown to me later (Judy M.)
Quilt-a-long from Patterns by Jen - 2024 Monthly Color Challenge
 I'll be the featured blogger in March, so please follow along. Get a free 12" block each month. I plan to post the block I make each month and then will show the setting at the end of the year. If interested in a bundle of fabrics that will work (moda Grunge or Northcott Toscana) --just respond to this email and we'll get it put together. There are options to consider -- light/dark color blocks or a single background and color for each block. Her color inspiration this year is tropical fish like seen in this picture. All but one block will work with 1/4 yd for each color. So, let's discuss your thoughts and I can put together just the right bundle of fabric for you.
So far: January - Green and February - Orange
 
 Here are the fabrics that I have pulled --note a 'water' like background (available in my widebacks) and then some scraps of batiks that I have. So there is an other idea -- I could also pull batiks from the shop if you're interested in using them.

LOOKING AHEAD to Sew Expo Feb 29-March 3 in Puyallup, WA --
(Classes are Feb 28-March 3) - Registration starts January 16, 2024
If you're taking a class and would like to do an order from my shop and have it delivered in class --select -pick-up and in the notes of the order add that you'll be in my class at Sew Expo. I'll have a few options of kits, if we're able to communicate before February 22.
I'm scheduled to teach several classes this year, so wanted to give you a sneak peek at them.
Wednesday 1pm - Dangling Diamonds Runner -- This is what the kit fabrics will be.
-using the Boondoggle Ruler - this pattern is a take-off from my Dangling Diamonds quilt.
Thursday 8:30am - AnglePlay Basics   - learn basic piecing techniques for the half rectangle triangle with this template system
Thursday 11am - Intro to Paper Piecing  - Principle of Refraction aka the album cover of Dark Side of the Moon -- this is an 18" square block. Make into a pillow cover or incorporate into a larger project.
Thursday 3:30pm - Quilt Making Technique Trunk Show 
Friday 11am - Advanced AnglePlay   - learn the pieced half rectangle triangle.
Friday 3:30pm - Fundamentals of AnglePlay Trunk Show and Demo 
Sunday 12:30p - Beginning Quilt Making Learn the basics of piecing and quilt construction -- ALMOST SOLD OUT!
If any of these are of interest to locals or regional customers that aren't going to Puyallup, I'd be happy to do these prior or after the Expo in Grand Coulee.
