2023 - 03/04 - Feeling lucky?

Dear friend of KISSed Quilts,

Happy Pi Day!

It's been a whirlwind prepping and packing, setting up the booth at Puyallup - Sew Expo, then taking it all down again, packing it up and coming back home to unload and reorganize the shop a bit. Apologies for the late sending of this typical monthly newsletter. This will probably serve for March and April. It is good to be back in the groove of things though. If you've got a quilt needing to be quilted with an edge to edge design --contact me ASAP...I've got a couple of spots before I load a customer's Rondure! Yes, when those come in and request custom work, it usually takes me a bit.

At Sew Expo the Rosie Quilt was on display (click to view video) and brought a lot of attention. I sold almost all the Rosie fabric I brought in special for the event and the new 2nd edition of our book sold well too. If you're feeling like you missed out, I'll still honor the show price. Remember -- on Amazon it is $32, so gets yours here for $27.99. If you're a quilt shop and want to run a class using it or offer the book in your shop, please contact me for wholesale pricing. See anything in the video that you'd like--just check with me to see if we still have it. I'd love to ship it to you!

I've got the newly printed 2nd edition of my book You Can Quilt! available on my website as a PDF download too--get it now!

Lots of additional inspiration for projects with the blocks in the book can be found at www.skillbuildersampler.com. Who is ready to take a series of classes using this book? I'd love to add you to the list so that once I'm moved into our new shop space we can organize a regular series of classes to learn the skills taught from this book either in person or online.

I'll be teaching this Modern AnglePlay project in Odessa, WA on March 17, 9am-2pm.

If your local group, shop, guild would like a class, please ask!

Next big event is the WSQ
Greater Spokane Area Shop Hop - April 20-22.

Note my hours:

  • Thursday April 20 - 9am -6pm
  • Friday April 21 - 9am - 3:30pm ....I'm leaving promptly for the airport to make a flight to my 40th high school reunion.
  • SATURDAY - April 22 - CLOSED

I do hope you'll be able to come during the hours posted for Thursday and Friday.

Have you seen what got juried into

AQS: Daytona Beach, FL; Branson, MO; and Paducah, KY ??

 24 Karat Rondure

by Marlene Oddie & Nancy Cargo

This is an inverted version of the original Rondure. Patterns available here.

I'm working on logistics to be in Paducah on April 27 ...if you're driving from the Nashville area on that particular day --I'd love to catch a ride! I'm flying into BNA the evening of the 26th, plan to be at the show on the 27th, and likely fly home the 28th. This felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm just trying to minimize my costs and time away. Got a guest room?

Local Sew-in options include -- March 20 and 27; April 3, 10 and 17. -- please RSVP.

Want a formal class ?  -- let me know what you'd like to learn and we'll organize it!

I'll be closed March 17 and April 22-29. Please call if you're coming from a distance.

Any online orders placed during those dates should ship the next business day after any of those specific periods of time. Your orders are much appreciated! Don't miss new products outlined below.

New Products -- EeziGrip rulers! Is there a ruler size you love, but want the EeziGrip on the bottom surface? Let me know and I'll see what we can do. I've only got two posted on the website as I'm waiting for those who did pre-orders to all take receipt and then whatever is left I'll add to the website. I know I've got a 6 1/2" x 24" (yellow); 2 1/2" x 18" (clear); 2 1/2" x 12" (yellow) and (3) 6 1/2" squares (yellow) - first come first serve.

Found patterns in the shop that you might as well know about it:

Oh Baby! - a booklet of fun designs for baby quilts.

Jinny Beyer's Crystal Star --this includes the tissue printed foundations.

and my latest -- Positive Attitude. Includes instructions for using a layer cake (aka 10" stack) or yardage. I've got one Positively Pink 10" stack left that made the quilt on the right.

Hope to see you soon! Thanks for reading.
