The retreat I was to attend in April was cancelled. Provided life is back to normal by October, my hosted retreat will happen! Retreat Dates: Oct 19-23
Location: Camp MiVoden on Hayden Lake in Idaho.
My jury duty has been postponed to May (for now).
Hoping you're staying home and staying healthy ...but if you need supplies, please know I'm happy to ship directly to your home or make porch deliveries to locals. I'm still able to come into the shop as needed by myself. I'm long-arming, fulfilling orders and can answer questions via phone or if prearranged via skype (sfmbaerg) or FB Msgr video chat.
Take advantage TODAY of a lower tax rate ....tomorrow it goes up here in Grand Coulee.
Are you finishing up some projects? New widebacks have arrived! - including some with metallic elements and flannels
Masks and Gowns - availability of health-care provider supplies is changing daily, but for those making masks - non-woven interfacing arrives today!
One regional hospital asked for washable gowns (3 yds each + 18" elastic). Have yardage you don't think you'll ever use that might make up into a washable gown (front 1.25 yds; back 1.25 yds; sleeve 0.5 yd)? If interested in donating to this initiative, let me know and I'll connect you with the point of contact.
Ephrata's Fabric Patch has great You Tube videos for mask making and I'd encourage you to use that for instructions. Most importantly, the receiving organization may have specifics, so please be aware of them before embarking on these initiatives.
N95 covers are a single layer cotton fabric circle, elastic around the diameter and attached fabric ties, but each provider needs 25-50 depending upon how many patients they see in a day. Batik is a tighter weave so we're currently testing this idea for our local hospital. If interested in using up some 9-10" circle scraps of batik or you have rolls of fabric ribbon you'd like to put to use, let me know! Willing to just do the sewing? I will have supplies upon completion of the test and acceptance by the hospital.
Social Media Connections I've just finished up #igquiltfest2020 on Instagram (instagram.com/marlene.kissedquilts) . Fun to go down memory lane for some quilts and feature some exciting new things happening. Lots of eye candy regardless. Speaking of...April 1-10 will be the Facebook LIVE Quilters Candy Virtual Trunk Show! Daily on the hour from about noon to 8pm there will be a design giving about a 15 minute live trunk show. I'm sure you won't want to miss this. Check out my blogpost for all the details and links.
Stay Healthy!
