The Omnigrid 4-1/2? x 4-1/2? ruler with 1/8" grid features an extra ½? width for seam allowances and is a great template for 4? finished blocks; it is used to cut and square blocks 4-1/2? and under, and to trim and square foundation piecing blocks.
In general, Omnigrid square rulers are used for secondary cutting of strips, and to square up finished quilt blocks
