2018 - 10 Life has a way of happening .....let's retreat!

News & Updates
'This newsletter is a bit later than normal. If you don't follow my facebook pages (business or personal) then you may not be aware, but my father made a decision to quit his peritoneal dialysis and died within 5 days. We are grateful he is no longer in pain and was at peace with his decision. This type of life event makes me renew my own pursuit of health and to try and make the most of every day. Making quilts became my chosen legacy after 9/11---17 years ago---and it continues to be a part of my daily life.

I discovered there are quite a few emails in my database that aren't on my monthly newsletter, so I'm adding 'all' to the distribution this month. If you'd like to get the monthly newsletter, or be on a new 'list' called 'Product Specials', please add yourself to the applicable list at the bottom of our Contact Us page.

Included in the newsletter this month:

- Fall Class schedule is forming

- New Aurifil thread offer available!

- The October 1 deadline for the Fall Retreat at Hayden Lake is quickly approaching

Row by Row kits can still be picked up in person, but if you aren't able to come to Grand Coulee, they are now available for purchase online on the website and will ship November 1. Junior Row by Row participants can still pick up their ribbons through the end of October.

I've continued to add new products, not just to the website but in the shop too! Please check out the new arrivals online or make an appointment to stop by the shop and ask to see new arrivals. Shipping is free when total purchase exceeds $75. Order ahead and select 'pick up in shop' if you're running tight on time but would like to pick it up in person.

In the past at a different location I offered this as an intensive for $250. Depending upon format and level of interest for this retreat, I'll consider offering tutorials for each session, but you'd be cutting and sewing in the general room. Final decision will be made by September 15 and posted in the calendar for payment prior to October 1. This will provide sufficient prep time for fabric selection, template creation and foundation printing/copying.

Puzzle BoxJust want to learn? Help others? There will be at least one free tutorial with pre-cut supplies provided, including pattern for "Puzzle Box" (image on left) or optionally you can bring your own with the intent of them being made for a charitable group that we'll share information about at the retreat. Attendees will be provided the supply list ahead of time if you wish to bring your own kit(s) to then make and keep or donate to the cause.

Oct 26-28 is a Women's Christian Retreat at the same location - consider coming for both! Please sign up for the weekend portion at their link.

This time you can start with charm squares and make a variety of fall leaves for a scattering of them in a table runner (sample shown from Anjeanette Klinder). Price will be dependent on number of sign ups ....Maximum class fee $40; Minimum $10 (need at least 5 students).

NEW monthly event for 2nd Monday of the month - 9am - 10am Show & Share for all quilters in the area; optional opportunity to stay and sew if you'd like. Many options to choose in the shop from these last 6 designers. Make an appointment to come check them out and help me plan a schedule for classes. Check the 'books' and 'patterns' category on the website for just some of the possibilities --come in for the rest!

If there are any particular techniques or projects that you'd like to have as a class, gather your friends who are interested and we'll schedule a class for this fall/winter/spring that works for you. Costs will be determined based on number of students and time needed for the project.

Aurifil Thread Box Offer

Aurifil Thread Box and spool of thread
Aurifil has extended a great deal and I'm offering it right here in Grand Coulee. $14.99 gets you a spool of thread and a box to put it in--your own brand new box! Typically here in Grand Coulee, I offer the spools at $12.50/spool and if you buy a whole case (12 spools) at one time, you get the case for $125. This offer will let you buy them at one or more a month until you reach 10, then you'll get the last 2 (to make 12) free. You can do this as often as you'd like, but is available only to the first 30 customers. Stop in and get your numbered box and fill it as many times as you'd like! You must have the box in hand each time you purchase for it to count towards your total case purchase.

Happy Fall Harvest Season!
